Put Some Vinegar On It

The hubby decided to throw me a surprise party over the weekend. This was my cake, made by my awesome sister-in-law. It makes me extremely happy. Doo wee ooooooo...

Ahem, I burst into song quite randomly. Ignore it. Or join me 'cause that would be awesome!

I started ripping out wallpaper this week. Honestly, I might have put it off a little longer but I was having a bad day and needed to be in control of something. This is way better therapy than punching your pillow! Now that I've shared my weak moment, it's time to share about wallpaper.

I bought a scorer and scored the wallpaper first. It's a little tool that makes little holes in the paper so whatever you use to loosen the glue will seep underneath and make it easier to take off. I couldn't find it to take a picture of. Surprise party, remember?

I mentioned here that I was going to try wallpaper remover first on this bad boy. DON'T EVER BUY IT! It's worthless in my opinion. Although, I'm pretty sure my wallpaper was forged in the fires of Mount Doom so maybe that was the problem.

This is as far as I got with two hours worth of time and wallpaper remover.

And this is how far I got in 10 minutes using just equal parts hot water and white vinegar. I found the wall!

I didn't have a spray bottle for the vinegar so I pulled out my mop. Yes, I mopped it onto my wall. I get desperate when I'm frustrated.

Since the vinegar is working so awesomely, I think I'm going to stick with it.
