Breezy Farmhouse Bedroom Mood Board

Guys, I am not sure I've been so excited about a room design before. Seriously, I wish this was going to be my room. I can see it all in my head and it is going to be fabulous!

Our current guest room was thrown together with what I had at the time. I never designed it. When we decided to move the nursery and turn Little Man's room into the new guest room, I just left the color in there because it was only a couple years old and I still loved it. I just used old bedding and whatever lighting I happened to find at the thrift store to make it usable. It never quite felt right, no matter how many times I rearranged and added things.

Mood boards are a great way to start planning a room design. I've put together a new mood board for a breezy farmhouse guest bedroom with white walls, lace curtains, dark metal and wood for fixtures and furniture, with pops of green for a fresh accent color. So soothing and cozy! White living room ikea agen wicker chair brick fireplace wood coffee table loloi rug rio green

This rug got the imaginative juices flowing and before I knew it, I had dreamed up a breezy farmhouse guest room centered around it.

Here's what the room looked like last year(I've moved a few things around since these were taken):

Although I still love the Woodlawn Sterling Blue walls in our current guest room, it does not work with the green in the rug so my plan is to paint the walls in my favorite Bistro White. The vintage wood dresser and night stand that's already in there will add perfect contrast and more of that farmhouse feel. Add some oil-rubbed bronze wall sconces for lighting, breezy white curtains, and brand new white bedding...*swoon*

So. dreamy.

I'm not totally sure when I'll be able to get started on it yet. Hopefully within the next month. I like to jump into a project before other ones are done and while chaos still reigns. Poor Hubby has to put up with it so I'm trying very hard to reign myself in and reform my impulsively creative ways. While I'm waiting for the green light, I'll just work on corraling the current chaos and finishing up a few other projects.

It's so hard to wait when it's so clear in my head. I feel like a kid that just got their allowance and the money is burning a hole in their pocket. Anybody else get that feeling when you want to decorate?

I just had to share the vision with you!
