Virginia weather is crazy. Yesterday it decided to rain, sleet, and snow. All in one day. So much for spring. Although the sun looks like it's trying to poke out of the clouds right now. It's a valiant effort.
I finally started my garden yesterday. It's about two weeks too late so here I am hoping I haven't killed it already. I decided to start small so we are only planting tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, carrots, and lettuce, although I'm thinking about adding onions.
I bought the pots at the Dollar Tree. Supposedly, you can just plant the whole pot in the ground. The potting mix I bought at Walmart. It's a dry mix and I'm not quite sure how wet I need to keep the soil so something will actually grow.
I am accepting any and all forms of advice on gardening. I really have no clue what I am doing.
Any gardeners out there? What are your reasons for growing your own fruits and vegetables?
