We are all excited for Christmas! This week, we've had little cousins staying at our house and an early gift exchange with my family so the boys are even more rambunctious than usual. Today is our first day without guests though and we are planning a quiet Christmas with just our little family this year. I think all of the presents have been taken care of and I've seen the new Star Wars movie so we are good to go!
This year I went with a rustic, green and neutral theme for Christmas. I especially love how the mantel turned out. I wish I could keep it like this year round, it looks so cozy! I changed the color in the living room this year and, while I'm not totally sold on this shade of white yet, I am loving how everything pops against the light background.
Since it's Christmas Eve already, go ahead and take a peek at how I've decorated this year!
On one of our side tables, I placed two small cross-stitch hoops into a little porcelain sleigh. They were made my Nana and I wanted to display them somehow. I ended up just setting them in the sleigh and leaving them there. A unique display, but I like it.
Frank is front and center above the piano, which is only fair since Frank is short for Frankincense. Rather appropriate for Christmas, right? Frank also likes my scarves.
This is the first year I've decorated any room for Christmas beyond the first floor. I have really enjoyed extending the Christmas atmosphere to the master bedroom. I like the room anyway but the extra Christmas decor adds a special winter cozy feel. It is something I am definitely going to do again!
I can't get enough of the rustic coziness! I wish I could have done more decorating in more rooms but it just didn't work for this year. I am thoroughly enjoying what I did accomplish though!
I wish you all a merry Christmas as we remember the birth of Emmanuel, God with us!
